Meet Sandra Thiessen
Sandra Thiessen was born in Wyoming in 1964. She became a dedicated
Christian in 1972. For four years she studied voice privately at the
University of South Florida with Dr. Everett Anderson. While still in high
school she participated in many competitions, winning first place in her
category for the Florida, Georgia and Alabama region in the National
Association of Teachers of Singing.
In 1982 Sandra attended
Capernwray Bible
School in North Lancashire, England. She returned to marry Glen
Thiessen in 1983, and they enjoy four children, one daughter-in-law, one
grandson and a small white dog with high self esteem!
Sandra loves to walk, read, do needlework, spend evenings with her family
and write. Some of her writing has appeared in Good Housekeeping Magazine,
and “A Cup of Comfort Devotional For Women”. Her articles have also been
featured in stories for ABC and PAX television.
Sandra’s love for music is traced to a time when she listened to her
Aunt’s sing in harmony as they tackled the difficult job of caring for
their invalid mother. She learned from an early age that praise to the
Lord expressed through music can completely alter the focus in the midst
difficult circumstances.
She writes, “It was at Capernwray Bible School where I was first exposed
to the five words that have come to mean so much to me: “For This I Have
Jesus.” No matter what challenge or sorrow we face, this small phrase
holds enormous comfort. Hang on dear friend...Jesus is enough!”
